"Rose") McGowan was born September 5 7th, 1973. She is an American
actress. McGowan made her film debut in 1992 in Encino Man (1992), and was
nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her performance
in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakthrough came in the
horror film Scream (1996) and subsequently headlined the films Going All the
Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). In the early 2000s,
McGowan became known to the public via her role as Paige Matthews in The WB
supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). She was then cast in Robert
Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) for
which she was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as the
Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. In 2014, she was a part in Chosen the
action-thriller show. The actress dropped Planet 9, her first album of her own
in the year 2018 and a repackaging came out in 2020. McGowan was dubbed one of
the Silence Breakers in 2017 by Time magazine. The award honors McGowan's
advocacy on sexual harassment and assault especially in relation to Harvey
Weinstein cases of sexual abuse as well as the Me Too movement. Brave is her
autobiography. Citizen Rose was her documentary series. Both were released in
2018.
