Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston), an executive director for national at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright who was a pharmacist executive. She was born in San Diego. At the age of
14, she started her career in modeling. She worked in Paris and Japan. She made
the decision to become an actor after graduating from high school. She was
offered a spot on the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), and was nominated for
three Daytime Emmy Awards. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast participant,
and she got married to Dane in 1986. Meanwhile, she starred in The Princess
Bride (1987) playing the title character. After leaving the cast of Santa
Barbara, she got the role of the main character in Denial (1990) along with
Jason Patric. It was during State of Grace (1990), when she was introduced to
Sean Penn. They had one daughter Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. Robin was
back in Hollywood with Tara in one of the most important roles in her career,
after taking a break. She was stunning and brilliant. She starred in Toys
(1992) the film that was a comedy with Robin Williams. It was an extremely
entertaining performance. Wright was in the blockbuster hit Forrest Gump
(1994), acting alongside Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated for a Golden Globe
Award for her role in the film as Jenny. The film gave her a small part in The
Crossing Guard (1995) with Jack Nicholson. After having turned down 14 roles
she played the title role in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen
Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and Stockard Channing. Later, she
appeared in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997), with William Hurt.
