Sofia Margarita Vergara
Sofia Margarita Vergara, Spanish was born on 10 July 1972. She is an actress presenter, producer, model, and television presenter from Colombia. Vergara was the highest-paid actor on American television from 2013 until 2020. Vergara rose in prominence during her time hosting two programs on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the latter part of the 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was Vergara's first significant acting gig in English. The following year, she was featured in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009, which received an ALMA Award nomination). She first played Gloria Delgado–Pritchett in ABC's comedy series Modern Family, for which she received nominations for four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards and eleven Screen Actor Guild Awards. She also voiced characters in animated films Happy Feet Two (2011). Escape from Planet Earth (2013). and The Emoji Movie (2018). Her mother Margarita Vergara De Vergara was a homemaker, while her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo worked as a cattle rancher within the meat industry. Her five siblings, as well as many of her cousins, she was named "Toti". Vergara began her dental studies for three years at National University of Colombia, however she decided to leave two semesters away from completing her education to pursue modeling opportunities and show business.
